Referring to your letter of the 6th instant, instructing the Crown Agents to pay Mr. Minder his Salary as Master and also Mr. Charles Davies, who had been appointed Clerk, I have to acquaint you, for the information of the Duke of Newcastle that no mention is made of the term of Engagement, and I request that you will favor us with His Grace's instructions as to what form of Agreement, if any, should be entered into with the gentlemen alluded to.
